The Hyve Artists charge an hourly rate of $160/hr to $250/hr with a minimum of $130, depending on the artist. If price is a concern or your tattoo is really small and/or simple, ask our staff and they will direct you to an artists with the more affordable rate.

All of our artists are trained in blood born patogens, cross contamination, and starility procedures. Our establishment is fully licensed and Fraser Health board approved.

It depends. Sleeve tattoos could take longer to complete depending on the complexity of the design. Tattoo artists could charge between $160 to $250 per hour, and some even offer half-day and full-day rates. Therefore, it’s best to head over to our tattoo studio for a complimentary consultation.

Typically, the outer layer of skin will heal in about 2-4 weeks, but complete healing, including deeper layers, can take up to 6 months.

Follow your artist’s specific instructions, but generally, you should keep the tattoo covered for the first few hours, then gently wash it with mild soap and water. Avoid direct sunlight and keep it clean and moisturized.

Clean the tattoo with mild soap and water, apply a thin layer of tattoo aftercare ointment or unscented moisturizer, and avoid picking or scratching the tattoo. Wear loose clothing over the area and avoid soaking it in water. Please refer to our Tattoo Aftercare page for full details.

Prolonged redness, swelling, warmth, pus, and increased pain are signs of infection. If you experience these symptoms, please seek medical advice.

Yes, tattoos can be removed with laser treatments, though this can be costly and time-consuming. Cover-ups are also possible if you want to modify the design rather than remove it completely. Not all coverups are guaranteed and not all coverups are possible.

It depends. Some people describe it as a scratching or pricking sensation, with some minor discomfort or pain. Others say it is more painful and can feel like a bee sting. However, it all depends on the area and the person - everyone is different. The general rule is that it will hurt more if the area doesn’t usually see the sun.

It is essential to stay hydrated and eat food before your appointment, as you will burn through sugar and endorphins quickly. It may also help moisturize the area and stay away from blood thinners/drugs before the session.

Tattoos may fade over time, depending on the area. Take care of your skin and tattoo by moisturizing regularly, protecting it from excessive sun exposure, and keeping your skin healthy. Touch-ups may be needed over time to maintain the design.

It’s better to avoid getting a tattoo while pregnant. At the Hyve Studio, we do not tattoo pregnant persons, as their body should focus on building a new person instead of healing a tattoo. Also, it’s best to avoid adding any strain to the body.

Risks include allergic reactions, infections, and skin issues. Choosing a professional and following aftercare instructions can minimize these risks.
